ZERO Health provides access to specialty medical services through a dedicated network of providers. This includes services and procedures like lab work, imaging such as MRIs, CT-Scans, X-Rays and Ultrasounds, GI procedures, and many surgeries like Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) procedures, orthopedic surgeries, and general surgeries including gallbladder removal, hernia repair, and tonsillectomies, to name a few.
The district has chosen to partner with ZERO, starting 9/1/2026, because ZERO’s network reduces costs for the district and for employees and covered dependents that use ZERO.
Access to ZERO varies by medical plan. If You Choose...
HMO Gold or Platinum Plan, ZERO is available beginning September 1, 2026. All services received through ZERO are provided at no cost to you and your covered dependents on either HMO plan.
High-Deductible PPO Plan, has access to ZERO beginning October 1, 2026. IRS rules require you to first meet a minimum deductible before $0 healthcare services are available to you. Employees and covered dependents on the High-Deductible PPO Plan can arrange for healthcare services through ZERO, pay ZERO’s reduced rates for the services, and ZERO will report your payments to BCBSTX so they count toward your plan’s deductible.
Once you pay $1,700 for individual coverage or $3,400 for family coverage, either through your High Deductible PPO Plan, or through ZERO, you will be eligible to receive $0 healthcare services through ZERO, for the remainder of the plan year.
